What is a Colombia Check-MIG?
Colombia Check-MIG is a digital system that uses fingerprint scanning to confirm travelers’ identities. It’s important to know that Check-MIG is not a visa and doesn’t replace one. If you require a Colombia visa, you can apply for an electronic visa or visit an embassy or consulate, depending on your nationality. This system also acts as a health declaration form, where visitors must share their health status with Colombian authorities.
- Check-MIG is mandatory for all air travelers to and from Colombia, including Colombians.
- Applications for Check-MIG are accepted at any time but processed only 24-72 hours before the trip.
- The form is linked to specific flight details, requiring travelers to reapply if there are any changes.
- Travelers must apply separately for Check-MIG before entering and leaving Colombia, each within 24-72 hours of arrival and departure.
Colombia Resolution 2532 of 2022 is a resolution issued by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Colombia that establishes the health measures for the entry and exit of travelers to and from Colombia to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19. Travelers must complete the Check-MIG form for Colombia online, have a vaccination certificate or a negative test result, and follow the biosafety protocols.
Who needs a Colombia Check-MIG?
Everyone traveling to or from Colombia, whether Colombian citizens or foreigners, must fill out a Check-MIG. Check-MIG is a system where travelers can electronically submit their information before their trip, speeding up the immigration process when they arrive in Colombia.
